This study focuses on the observation of the landscape, understood as an intense dialogue between man and his surrounding environment. I conceive the landscape as a vast representative and imaginative segment. In my most recent works, a vision of the landscape that is more ethereal and rarefied, sometimes muffled, emerges with increasing clarity. Each piece conveys the sensation of a gradual tonal shift, marked by the superimposition of new chromatic gradients that intersect, forming multiple perceptual layers. New spatialities and chromatic gleams manifest, always within the perspective of a decidedly informal pictorial language. The latest works are defined as "colour perspectives." There are no explicit references to specific places, but rather infinite perceptions of distances, subtle shadows that gradually dissolve, losing their boundaries and transforming into open and contemplative spaces, with a mute and enigmatic appearance. The compositions appear luminous, with vivid tones. Expansive portions of landscape, fields of colour, and a vivid pictorial materiality dominate the scene. In the material and two-dimensional element, the corporeal and monumental aspect of painting prevails, a distinctive feature of Severino's production. This research translates into works that evoke a tension between presence and absence, a dynamic equilibrium between matter and colour, between form and space, in which the landscape transforms into a suspended and timeless dimension.
